Course objectives

Megatrends refer to a coordinated series of changes that have been going on for many years and promise to last for a long time ahead. Megatrends are so deeply embedded in the overall functioning of the world that the mere idea of trying to reverse one seems implausible.

The course presents some basic aspects of Futures Studies and analyses three different megatrends using data from demography, geopolitics, and urban planning. Students will be asked to discuss the data and figure out possible solutions.
