Do you have a business idea and you would like to know to translate into reality? Or you feel more at ease proposing and implementing ideas within an existing company? The School of Innovation is organizing “That’s my life”, a series of testimonials of young entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs who share their success stories and tips how to make your ideas happen. Our guests tell the stories of their personal and professional transformations from a student to an innovator and/or an entrepreneur.
Date: 23 April 2020
Time: 7 PM
Place: Zoom
The guests of the second session of this year’s seminar is Peter Watson.
Peter Watson is Managing Director and co-Founder of Distract, an innovative and award-winning marketing agency based in Lincoln (UK).
In 2019, Peter was named as Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the East Midlands. Distract was founded in 2015 while Peter and his business partner were still in their second year of university, primarily as a social media agency.
Distract now serves more than 75 clients across the UK and beyond. The agency now offers paid search, paid social and digital PR services as well as an in-house creative team that encompasses web design and development. Moreover, Peter took the unusual step of hiring a dedicated videographer to follow him throughout his working week to document his business journey. There are more than 100 episodes of the documentary ‘Inside The Journey’ available to watch on YouTube.
As well as Distract, Peter is the founder of Featured, a seed fund incubator company specialising in helping start-ups launch while offering advice and support. He has also launched an e-commerce platform for the automotive industry and will be seeking to get many other entrepreneurial projects off the ground alongside this.
