This is Enactus. It’s the chance to bring your innovative ideas to life. Just like its motto, Enactus is:
- A community of students, entrepreneurs, and academics who see business as a way to address social issues.
- An extracurricular experiential program offered to university students where they develop, and implement real entrepreneurial projects focused on social and environmental sustainability.
- An international non-profit organization that brings together students, universities, and leaders from the business world, industry, and companies with a single goal: to create a better future through entrepreneurial projects that meet local community needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, as outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
A Story of an Extraordinary Journey
Founded in the United States in 1975, Enactus nowadays operates in over 30 countries, creating a network of 1k+ universities and 40k+ students. Globally, Enactus students have developed 1k+ projects for local communities, improving the lives of 13.1 million people worldwide.
In Italy, Enactus’ journey began in 2016 and it quickly established a network of more than 20 universities across the country, continuously expanding with the support of various corporate partners.
UniTrento was among the firsts to join: not only believe in the vision of the project itself but also trusting its students. Over the years, the Enactus Trento team has achieved several successes: winners of the 2017 National Competition with the “Kilimangiamo” project, finalists in the 2018 and 2019 editions, and silver medalists in the 2021 competition.

#Weallwin, the National Competition: a Gateway to the Entrepreneurial World
Each year, the Enactus program culminates in the National Competition. This event showcases the projects developed by students during the year, judged by a panel of business leaders and investors who believe in Enactus. The winning team is recognized as the national champion and gets the opportunity to participate in the Enactus World Cup. (This year, the Enactus World Cup is coming to Astana, Kazakhstan! The Enactus Trento team participated in the National Competition on May 16-17 in Rome with the Social Pasta Co-Op project. Check out the aftermovie of the national competition.
In 2023, a novelty for more mature projects was announced: a new pre-acceleration program launched by Enactus Italy in collaboration with WDA, a venture building company co-founded by Roberto Macina. The goal was to promote innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility in Enactus projects. UniTrento Team also took part in this side competition with its project Larix.
Larix (ex-woodcard) was already selected among the best Early Stage Projects during the Enactus World Cup 2021. It represents a sustainable alternative that minimizes reliance on virgin wood and aims to revolutionize the market with a circular approach. Check out Larix on LinkedIn.
