Open Office – from idea to decision
A space for discussion dedicated to those who have a business idea and want to understand if they have the right entrepreneurial mindset.
How it works
- An initial screening meeting to evaluate the idea and its potential together
- Access to a structured program of 5 sessions, with clear milestones and deliverables
- Final support for:
- accreditation as a student or academic startup
- potential access to Trentino Startup Valley programs, in collaboration with Trentino Sviluppo and HIT
Distinctive value
The program is led by former founders and founder coaches with direct experience in creating and developing startups.
Meetings with entrepreneurs and managers
Regular meetings with entrepreneurs, founders, and managers to bring real-world examples of business into the university.
These sessions allow students and researchers to:
- engage with authentic entrepreneurial stories
- understand challenges, mistakes, and strategic decisions
- experience the culture of business within the university setting
Format
Talks, fireside chats, and open Q&A sessions, in an informal, dialogue-oriented setting.
Interventions in degree and PhD programmes
We design and deliver training programs focused on developing cross-cutting entrepreneurial skills, which can be integrated into degree courses and doctoral programs.

Summer School in Entrepreneurship
Trento–Bolzano | July 19–23, 2026
An intensive program designed for students at the University of Trento and the University of Bolzano to explore entrepreneurship through a practical, interdisciplinary, and hands-on approach.
The Summer School is designed for those who want to:
- explore the world of entrepreneurship
- work on real-world ideas and challenges from the research community
- engage with founders, entrepreneurs, and mentors
- experience teamwork in an intensive setting
Key Features
- Duration: 5 full-time days (July 19–23, 2026)
- Participants: selected students from Trento and Bolzano
- Approach: learning by doing, teamwork, mentoring
- Output: validated ideas, final pitches, and development roadmaps
What participants will do
- Work in multidisciplinary teams
- Explore research ideas and market opportunities
- Acquire basic tools for validation, business models, and pitching
- Present their project at a final Demo Day
The Summer School also serves as a prime gateway to other entrepreneurship initiatives at the School of Innovation, such as Open Office and the Venture Building program.
