Matthias Carl (Ph.D. in Biology, University of Heidelberg, Germany, 1999) is Associate Professor for Comparative Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Trento. He has been working at various scientific institutions in Germany, Japan and the UK and is now head of the laboratory for Translational Neurogenetics at CIBIO, University of Trento. His research focuses on the genetic mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders. Alongside courses for Developmental Biology and Neurosciences he is teaching various soft skills comprising presentation techniques, application writing, CV composing and manuscript drafting.
