• Understand the structure and functioning of modern supply chains.
• Explain the main environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges affecting supply chains.
• Analyze sustainability risks and opportunities across different supply chain stages.
• Discuss governance mechanisms and sustainability strategies adopted by firms.
• Evaluate the transition from linear to circular and regenerative supply chains.
• Apply SSCM concepts through case studies and collaborative problem solving.
Entrance requirement
The course is open to all students and does not require prior knowledge or specific competencies.
Contents
Supply chains are increasingly expected to deliver not only economic value but also environmental and social sustainability. Organizations face growing pressure from customers, regulators, investors and society to improve transparency, resilience and responsibility across their value chains.
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM), providing participants with analytical frameworks to understand how supply chains operate, the sustainability challenges they face, and the managerial strategies available to address them. Particular attention is devoted to the role of innovation, digitalization and circular economy in transforming supply chains towards more sustainable and regenerative models.
